WHITE HORSE BLACK MOUNTAIN
All events are FREE or PAY WHAT YOU CAN
We want to ensure everyone in our community can access the healing power of music!
All ticket donation proceeds will be divided 50 / 50 between the performing artist and the White Horse Community Fund, which supports 4 local nonprofits in Hurricane Helene relief and rebuidling efforts.
Live Music = Community Healing
Additional community events can be seen on our Facebook page.
On September 27, Hurricane Helene devastated our communities of Black Mountain and the larger Swannanoa Valley. We have been both leveled and buoyed, sometimes in the same moment, by all that we have witnessed.
And...
White Horse Black Mountain is a nonprofit center for the arts in Black Mountain, NC. We create community through the power of live music and support other local nonprofit organizations.
We will not let this devastation impede our mission to support local nonprofits AND provide space for community healing through music.
We are leaning into the power of “And…”
Below you will see two donation opportunities.
The White Horse Community Fund directly supports projects for the FIRST HEALING WORK of local health & safety nonprofits.
The White Horse Support Fund directly supports the SECOND HEALING WORK provided by our staff during this time of cancellations, so that we can keep our doors open as a distribution and music / community gathering site.
White Horse Community Fund
The White Horse has partnered with four local nonprofits who are serving the FIRST HEALING WORK of life, safety and security and have identified 4 projects that need our immediate attention. All donations made to this campaign will directly support the organizational projects in the areas of food security, home repair, mental health and fuel fund for the coming fall/winter. Learn more about the projects and this fund HERE.
White Horse Support Fund
While we are grateful that our building didn’t sustain major damage, we have canceled all shows for the foreseeable future. As such, we cannot sustain our space and our staff. If you also believe in the power of music and community to heal and have funds to give, we hope you will think forward with us to the SECOND HEALING WORK by supporting the White Horse today! “In a time when some folks are actively and intentionally shredding the fabric of society, it’s not enough that we refrain from joining them. We need to actively weave and mend. The White Horse is not just presenting entertainment, it is making space for community to happen.”
