White Horse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to charitable, educational, and cultural enrichment. We exist to support and elevate organizations and initiatives that also qualify as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or any successor provision.

Our Purpose
We create high-quality, art-centered experiences that celebrate artists, audiences, and community connection.
At the heart of White Horse is a true listening room—an intentional space where music is honored, distractions fall away, and the relationship between artist and audience becomes the focus of the experience.

Our Mission
To provide an empowering community space for a wide variety of music and art as we engage music education via exposure to a wide variety of genres, as well as music education workshops. To provide a gathering space for groups who seek to bring the community together. To offer direct financial aid to support and empower other area nonprofits that nourish the Swannanoa Valley.

What We Believe
We believe communities need a place to intentionally connect with music and art. We believe that these moments of connection can repair some of the tears in the fabric of our society and that art can have a powerful ripple effect throughout the region and world. We believe that art lightens our load, gives solace to the weary, can help heal the wounded, and honors the part of our lived experience that we can’t find adequate words to express.

Our Facility
White Horse is housed in the historic McMurray Building, originally built in the 1940s as an automotive dealership.
Our 3,000-square-foot listening room seats 180 guests, with additional bar seating and standing room for up to 50 more. The curved wooden ceilings and intimate design create exceptional natural acoustics, making every performance feel close, present, and immersive.
