The Swannanoa Gathering will be hosting a tribute concert at White Horse Black Mountain on July 12th, in honor of Fiona Ritchie’s remarkable 41 years of producing and hosting NPR’s award-winning weekly program of Celtic music, The Thistle & Shamrock®. Ritchie, who retired the program last fall, has been a long-time instructor of Scottish song during the annual Swannanoa Gathering at Warren Wilson College. The concert, entitled “FionaFest”, will include twelve world class music performer/instructors from the Swannanoa Gathering – an unprecedented all-star concert line-up for western North Carolina including:
