Since moving to Asheville, North Carolina in 2013, Alex Taub has been a mainstay of its thriving and eclectic music community. Highly versatile among a wide variety of genres, his touch, feel, and musical depth have made him one of the most in-demand musicians on the scene.

Billy Strayhorn was a highly influential American jazz composer, pianist, and arranger, best known for his long-standing collaboration with Duke Ellington. He is celebrated for his sophisticated compositions like “Take the ‘A’ Train,” “Lush Life,” and “Chelsea Bridge,” which have become jazz standards. While often overshadowed by Ellington, Strayhorn’s musical contributions were equally significant, impacting both the Ellington orchestra’s sound and the broader jazz landscape.
