Keep the Music Alive – Year End Giving Campaign

  • A Sweet Collaboration, A Grateful Heart

At White Horse Black Mountain, we’ve always believed that community is at the heart of everything we do—and we’re feeling that more than ever as we reopen our doors. We’re incredibly grateful to our friends at The Hop Ice Cream for celebrating this moment with us in the sweetest way possible. To mark our reopening,…

  • We’re Back: A New Chapter at White Horse Black Mountain

On April 16, we welcomed our first act back to the stage—reopening the doors of White Horse Black Mountain and beginning a new chapter for our space and our community. The road here hasn’t been easy. On January 21, 2026, a structural collapse during demo work on our former ticket booth caused significant damage to…

  • White Horse Community Hub: A Place to Meet, Make, and Mingle

We are thrilled to share the wonderful feature on the White Horse Community Hub in the March issue of The Laurel of Asheville! As the year winds down, we invite you to include White Horse Black Mountain in your end-of-year giving. Your support keeps the lights on, the doors open, and the music — and our mission — alive.

For 17 years, White Horse has been a cornerstone of creativity and connection in Black Mountain. Every show, every gathering, and every partnership shares one goal: to bring people together and give back.

This spirit guided us throughout 2025, a year when our region faced the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Through the White Horse Community Fund, generous donor support helped provide immediate and ongoing relief to neighbors and local nonprofits, including:

We’re proud of this impact — but it’s important to remember: every dollar we gave was a dollar we chose not to keep. White Horse is a modest, community-centered nonprofit, and your gift goes directly toward sustaining our listening room and community hub.

Every show at White Horse is a benefit show, and every beat gives back. Thanks to donations like yours, as well as memberships and ticket sales, we can:

Ways to Give Before December 31

Tax Savings – Charitable gifts made by midnight on December 31 are deductible for 2025, even if you don’t itemize.

From Your IRA – If you’re 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA can reduce taxable income while supporting White Horse. If you’re 73 or older, it may also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution.

Appreciated Assets – Gifts of stock or other appreciated assets can help avoid capital-gains tax and qualify for a charitable deduction.

Your contribution keeps the music playing, supports the artists who inspire us, and ensures that White Horse remains a beacon of connection, creativity, and care — not just for Black Mountain, but for everyone who believes in the power of live music to do good.

Thanks to donors like you, we’ll launch new community-centered programs and partnerships in the year ahead — continuing to build a stronger, more connected community where every show is a benefit and every beat gives back.
