Who We Are

White Horse is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and cultural development purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or a corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

Our Purpose

Provide high-quality art-centered experiences while supporting artists and the community. We are also dedicated to creating a genuine listening environment where music takes center stage, and the profound connection between artists and audience is celebrated.

Our Misson

To provide an empowering community space for a wide variety of music and art as we engage music education via exposure to a wide variety of genres, as well as music education workshops. To provide a gathering space for groups who seek to bring the community together. To offer direct financial aid to support and empower other area nonprofits that nourish the Swannanoa Valley.

What We Believe

We believe communities need a place to intentionally connect with music and art. We believe that these moments of connection can repair some of the tears in the fabric of our society and that art can have a powerful ripple effect throughout the region and world. We believe that art lightens our load, gives solace to the weary, can help heal the wounded, and honors the part of our lived experience that we can’t find adequate words to express. 

Our Facility

Our 3000 square foot facility seats 150 people, with bar seating and standing room for 50 more. The curved wood high ceilings create beautiful acoustics. We’re housed in the historic brick McMurray Building which was built in the 1940s as an automotive dealership.
