White Horse Community Fund

On September 27, Hurricane Helene devastated the Black Mountain and Swannanoa Valley area. We have been both leveled and buoyed, sometimes in the same moment, by all that we have witnessed..

As a nonprofit center for the arts in Black Mountain, NC, we are dedicated to creating community through the power of live music and to supporting other local nonprofit organizations. This devastation will not deter us from our mission. Instead, it deepens our resolve to provide space for healing, connection, and hope through music and community support.

In response to this devastating disaster, the White Horse Community Fund was established as a way to turn heartbreak into healing. Through this fund, we support additional non-profit partners as they lead critical recovery efforts throughout the Swannanoa Valley.

“We believe communities need a place to intentionally connect with music and art. We believe that these moments of connection can repair some of the tears in the fabric of our society. We believe that art lightens our load, gives solace to the weary, can help heal the wounded, and honors the part of our lived experience that we can’t find adequate words to express.

The White Horse Community Fund proudly supports other local non-profit organizations that provide essential hurricane relief and recovery assistance. These contributions help strengthen the community through partnerships with groups such as Black Mountain Counseling Center, Bounty & Soul, Hammer & Heart, and Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministries.
