Description
Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Joshua Singleton’s music is steeped in the sounds of the American South. Originally from Jackson, Tennessee — halfway between Nashville and Memphis — Singleton grew up surrounded by the soul of Beale Street and the twang of Broadway. As soon as he was old enough, he was performing in clubs across both cities, honing a sound that blends Country storytelling with Blues grit. After spending three years writing for a Nashville publishing company, Joshua Singleton penned hundreds of songs — but only a select few made the cut for The Promised Land. The album is a handpicked collection of his most personal and powerful work, showcasing his gift for blending Country honesty with Blues soul.
Standout tracks include:
• “Heart with an Arrow Tattoo” — a vivid coming-of-age story about a teenage boy’s attempt to prove his love.
• “She’s on Fire” — a rollicking, red-wine-fueled ode to a woman who leaves nothing but broken hearts in her wake.
With influences like Chris Stapleton and Jason Isbell, Joshua Singleton brings a fresh yet timeless voice to the Country/Americana scene. His years of experience as both a performer and songwriter have honed a sound that’s equally at home in the mountains of Asheville as it is on the stages of Nashville or Memphis. The Promised Land isn’t just an album — it’s the story of a musician who’s lived the songs he sings.
