Three Chord Monty
Three Chord Monty celebrates jazz as the world’s first and foremost mash-up music: the musical “sound of surprise”. There’ll be something for everyone in the music of this remarkable trio featuring Dr. William Bares on piano, bassist Daniel Iannucci on bass and Ryan Ptasnik on drums. Though formidable individually on their respective instruments, the group aims for a different kind of virtuosity, using syncopation and irreverence to keep the audience on its toes, pulling on harmonic and rhythmic threads to reveal the interconnectedness of all music! Familiar tunes surface, disappear and resurface in ways designed to delight and surprise. No genre of music is off limits: from the jazz to pop, from classical favorites to familiar TV theme songs.
Our White Horse Jazz Showcase is supported in Part by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts
