The Black Mountain Blues Society and White Horse Black Mountain present the Dark City Blues Jam, a twice-monthly celebration of blues, soul, grit, and community. We invite musicians and music lovers alike to experience the raw energy of live blues in the heart of the Blue Ridge.
Whether you are a seasoned player looking to sit in with a powerhouse house band or a fan ready to soak up the atmosphere, the Dark City Blues Jam offers an authentic, high-energy environment for all. We want to hear what youโve got!
The Details:
Signing up to play is simple: Sign-Up Sheet: The list opens at the venue starting at 6:30 PM.
The Process: Musicians are encouraged to arrive early to secure a slot. You can sign up as an individual or a partial group. SIgn ups end 10 min before showtime. What to Bring: Bring your own instrument (guitars, harps, horns, etc.).

Known for her soulful delivery and fearless storytelling, she blends blues, jazz, and R&B with raw authenticity. Whether on a big stage or in an intimate room, Peggyโs performances are powerful, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
Bill Mattocks is a renowned blues musician known for his powerful vocals and harmonica skills. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, he relocated to Western North Carolina and has become a prominent figure in the regionโs blues scene. His music style encompasses various genres, including blues, soul, funk, and R&B, drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Robert Johnson, B.B. King, and Howlinโ Wolf and JJ Cale.
