Community Collaboration Brings $70,000 to Hammer & Heart

At a recent members event, White Horse Black Mountain and the Rotary Club of Black Mountain & Swannanoa Valley proudly presented a $70,000 donation to Hammer & Heart, supporting critical emergency home repairs for local residents in need.

Hammer & Heart works tirelessly to ensure neighbors can stay safely in their homes by addressing urgent repair needs that directly impact health, safety, and livability. Current cases include individuals who have been without running water for over a year due to storm damage, as well as households living without functioning HVAC systems.

“This collaboration reflects the strength of community partnerships and a shared commitment to caring for our neighbors,” said Zach Hinkle, Managing Director. Judi Melton, Director of Marketing & Community Relations, added, “Safe housing and basic utilities are essential to dignity and wellbeing.”

The funds will be used immediately to provide essential repairs and services, helping residents maintain safety, stability, and comfort in their homes.

This partnership is a powerful reminder of what local organizations can achieve when they work together—creating meaningful, lasting impact for the Swannanoa Valley community.
