In this class, we’ll discover how gentle yoga can help us face the challenges that arise in our lifelong journey of aging. Substitute instructor, Noreen, will lead us in guided movement designed to help maintain joint and muscle health and address inflammatory conditions related to aging.
After 45 minutes of yoga, we’ll enjoy another 45 minutes of iRest Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation designed to reduce stress and promote deep relaxation. Typically performed lying down or sitting, this meditation will help us quiet our minds and enter contemplative self-inquiry.
This class is suitable for beginners of all ages. Yoga mats are available or bring your own. Class is free and open to the public. Doors open at 1:30, class begins at 1:45.
About Noreen:
Noreen’s yoga practice began 25 years ago as a student with Mary Lou Buck of the Kripalu tradition in Charlotte, NC. Was fortunate to teach yoga for the student’s of Beverly Woods Elementary & South Mecklenburg High School. Received her 200YTT through Pranakriya Yoga’s founder and owner MIchael Carroll “Yoganand” in 2011. Received 500YTT certification as well as “Yoga for Cancer” certification in 2015.
Taught weekly @ Yoga for Life of Charlotte for 8 years as well as The Women’s Homeless Shelter (which was her favorite place to share her practice), The Pink House for Carolina Breast Friends as well Senior Centers in and around Charlotte.
